Study tour Montenegro
On the 1st of November a delegation from Montenegro visited Afvalzorg in Nauerna. The visit was initiated by the Dutch government and MVO Nederland who are assisting Montenegro in transfer of knowledge on Corporate Social Responsibility.
The visit to Afvalzorg was part of a Government to Government (G2G) study programme from Oktober 31th until November 3th in which the delegation members were to be informed on how leading Dutch companies embed Corporate Social Responsibility in their organisation. Because Afvalzorg is at the top of the benchmark for waste processing companies for the last 6 years and has the highest possible score on ‘sustainability’, MVO Nederland decided that a visit to Afvalzorg would provide the delegation with inspiration to bring back home.
A presentation was held by Harm Ritsema (organisation, redevelopment and Sufalnet4EU), Heijo Scharff (Sustainable landfilling) and Richard Gronert (landfill gas projects and emission control) followed by a tour on landfill Nauerna.
“Your approach on landfill operation, after care and redevelopment made quite an impression on the delegation and they were very enthusiastic” Petra Veeneman form MVO Nederland concluded.
