Ministry of Environment Ecuador visits Afvalzorg

On November 10th a delegation of the Ministry of Environment of Ecuador visited Afvalzorg in Nauerna. The object of the visit was transfer of knowledge on landfill operation with a focus on landfill gas recovery and utilisation.

The visit to Afvalzorg was part of a study programme from November 6th until November 10th in which the delegation members were to be informed on the organisation, structure and functioning of waste management in the Netherlands (policies, strategies, instruments, responsibilities). Part of the programme was also to visit outstanding Dutch waste management facilities.

During the visit to Afvalzorg, knowledge was shared on landfill operations, redevelopment, landfill gas projects and experiences in international consultancy assignments through a presentation by Richard Gronert, followed by a tour on landfill Nauerna.
